We are so proud of Our Village members and their commitment to the community. From book, toy and clothing drives to setting up special events and fundraisers our mothers won’t be stopped. Recently our mamas were on a mission to whip up a special dinner for the families staying at the Ronald McDonald house in St Pete.
The Ronald McDonald House is a valuable organization with 4 locations throughout Tampa and St. Petersburg that houses families and children that are receiving treatment for challenging medical conditions. After a long day at the hospitals, families are in need of a well-balanced meal to nourish them when they return. By providing the food and preparing the meal, valuable dollars can be reallocated to much needed programs and supplies for the house. Wanting to provide a warm dining experience,
Stroller Strides instructor Amanda Hurst engaged the moms and tots in her classes to make placemats and with the help of Erika Williner decorated with fresh flowers and linens. Anna Schey, backed by additional helpers Regina Hord, Laura Clark, Christen Gray, Lauren Hill, Jaclyn Amirto and Korina Blair, planned and executed a great night of fun and philanthropy. We also had several donors that gave money to help us purchase the food we cooked. We were able to donate nearly $250 in cash to the hospital after purchasing our food, too. Our Village is amazing!
This was our 2nd year volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House and we look forward to making this an annual tradition in Our Village Tampa Bay!
